WOMEN BODY SHAMING

“YOU ARE NOT A MISTAKE. YOU ARE NOT A PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED.

We all are unique creature of God; everybody is unique and beautiful in their own ways but we the literate humans can’t get rid of commenting and judging people as all of us has done this at least once in our life. According to survey 47.5% women in India have experienced body shaming at their school or workplace.

What actually Body shaming is? It involves humiliating someone by making inappropriate or negative comments about their body, size, shape, hair, color , clothing etc. Body shaming is not just restricted to size and shape but also done on the basis of skin color and type. People pass false comments if the skin is not fair in color or if there are some marks on your skin even for pimple too.

TOO FAT,

TOO SKINNY.

We are perfectly imperfect, and we should embrace ourselves the way we are, the way others are, and the way God has made us unique. But if somehow, we accept ourselves and start loving ourselves, our societal norms and people will not let us accept. They will always have something for our body size, shape, and color.

I’ll share some cases which I witnessed myself related to this are.

I got so many pimples on my face and all those left the marks on my face. After which whoever relatives coming to my home, they’ll start suggesting their own remedies for it. Remedies like use papaya leaves paste or crushed banana paste, and they’ll give compliments like

KHARAAB LAGTA?

CONCEALER LAGA KAR NIKLA KARO etc. All these were affecting me mentally and emotionally, I started feeling under confident, and was getting mentally disturbed by all these. One fine day I called one of my friends and told her whole scenario and we were started researching about this, we consulted the Doctor for this then they talked about peeling treatment, I took the treatment properly I got so much society Pressure about my looks which was not acceptable.

There was a girl in my hostel, who was very thin. Everybody in the hostel used to bully her by calling her hanger, skeleton etc. Some people used to give her advice of eating this and that. By listening all these she started eating all those what people were suggesting her but unfortunately nothing was affecting her in anyways and she was not able to gain weight. She got into depression by all these then her parents took her to psychologist.

Now here I’ll talk about the most important thing that is to be followed in our Indian Marriage System. Nowadays we are very modern and open-minded person, now we really don’t care about the color of skin until and unless the person is good with their behavior and skills but still people prefer the fair skin type girl for their son to get married. Now in have the question in mind is.

 THE UGLY WORLD OR GIRL?????
